Solutions for CAN
The CAN-Bus (Controller Area Network) is an asynchronous, serial bus system and belongs to the field busses.
The CAN-Bus was developed by Robert Bosch GmbH in 1983 to connect control units in motorized vehicles primarily to reduce cable harnesses and thereby reducing weight. Furthermore, the CAN-Bus is also used in the industrial automation systems for connecting micro controllers.
CAN is standardized as ISO 11898 and defines the layer 1 (physical layer) and 2 (data security layer) in the ISO/OSI reference model.
